Our private tour starts with the visit of the naturally fortified hill of the Acropolis, the cornerstone of Athens existence. You will travel back in ancient times walking among the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the unique Parthenon & the Erechtheion. From the top, you will have a panoramic view of the ancient theater of Dionisos & of the Herodion (Odeion of Herodes Atticus). Our private tour continues with the visits to Olympieio (with the Temple of Zeus and the Hadrian’s Arch) and to the famous Panathenaic Stadium (also known as Kallimarmaron) where the first modern Olympic Games were revived on 1896. Next stop is the Presidential Mansion (ex-Royal Palace) where you will monitor the traditional Change of the Guard.

Our car will then climb you to St. George Lycabetus Hill with the best panoramic view of Athens (ideal place for taking photos). While on route of our private tour, you will see important buildings & places such as the National Library, the Academy, the Univercity, the Old Greek Parliament & the Syntagma Square (Parliament building & Tomb of Unknown Soldier). Our next visits is to the Ancient Agora and to the famous Plaka. You will be lost in the narrow streets where the spirit of old Athens exists.

Time for having a quick traditional greek lunch and our private tour continues with driving towards west side of Attica prefecture to the city of Eleusis.

In accordance to the Greek mythology, Eleusis was known in ancient times as one of the five holy cities with the famous Eleusinians Mysteries, where the Goddess Demeter (Goddess of harvest & agriculture) and the Persephone (also called Kore, daughter of Zeus & Demeter, Queen of the underworld) were honored. The name of the city became wider thank to the great ancient tragedian Aeschylous, whom birthplace was Eleusis.

In the archaeological site of Eleusis you will see the Roman Court with the Temple of Propylaea Artemis, the Goddess Demeter’s Sanctuary with the Kallichoro Frear, the Ploytonio and the Telestirio the main Temple of Goddess Demeter. Above the Telestirio, in the hill, there is an old small church of Panagia dedicated to the Virgin Mary. It dates back to post-Byzantine times.

You will next visit the archaeological museum of Eleusis with a collection of exhibits like the Marble Sarcophagus, the Protoattic Amphora, the Fleeing Kore, the headless statue of Goddess Demeter and the statue of cistophorus Kore.

Our private tour concludes with the return in our starting place.
