Further Information / Detailed Tour Description

First Day: Our private 2 days tour starts with driving towards Viotia Prefecture. Passing outside the capital of Viotia prefecture, Livadia, we arrive for a short stop/visit to the traditional village of Arachova, which is located at the foot of mount Parnassus. We then reach to "the center of the world" – as it was regarded by the ancients – the famous Sanctuary of Delphi with the worldwide known Oracle. You will wander through the archaeological area admiring the Temple of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians, the Polygonal wall, the Treasury of the Siphnians, the Stoa of the Athenians, the ancient theater, the Sacred Way, the ancient Gymnasium, the Castalian Spring, the ancient Stadium & the Tholos of Athena Pronaia. Time for a traditional Greek lunch in the town of Delphi & your knowledge will be complemented with the visit to the archaeological museum, where you will follow the history of the most famous ancient oracle & you will admire sculpture, statues & minor objects donated to the sanctuary. We continue our tour with driving towards central Greece and in the evening we arrive in Kalampaka which is located just in the shadow of Meteora Rocks (also known as "The Rocks of the God"). Time for dinner and then you will spend your night in a charm hotel in the area.

Second Day: In the morning and after having your breakfast, we shall "climp" to the imposing rock towers of Meteora with the unique phenomenon to have on their top Orthodox monasteries built since middle ages. The whole complex of the rocks with the monasteries has been listed on UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. You shall have the opportunity to visit & admire some the most important monasteries such as the Monastery of Great Meteoron, the Monastery of Rousanou, the Monastery of Agia Triada (Holy Triniti), the Varlaam Monastery, the Monastery of Saint Nikolaos Anapafsa & the Monastery of Saint Stephanos. After having lunch & during our way back to Athens we shall have a short stop/vist to Thermopylae where the famous battle between the Greeks & the Persians took place in 480 B.C. You will admire the marvelous statue of King of Sparta, Leonidas who with 300 Spartans & 700 Thespians faced numerous Persian forces under the command of King Xerxes A’. It was there that Leonidas told to Xerxes the world famous phrase "Μολών Λαβέ (Molon Labe)" which means "Come & Get It". Our private 2 days  adventure reaches to the end with our returning back to starting point.
